Dr Sarah Hellewell is a Postdoctoral Scientist in the Cardiac Imaging Group at the HRI. She completed her PhD in Medicine at Monash University in Melbourne in 2013, with a subsequent CETBIR Acute Care Clinical Fellowship at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, and postdoctoral research at the University of Alberta, Canada.

Her research focuses on the pathological, cognitive and psychosocial consequences of traumatic brain injury. At the HRI, her focus is on the cardioneurovascular consequences of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and surgical brain injury, using cutting-edge brain imaging techniques such as high-angular resolution diffusion MRI to explore the neuropathological consequences of injury.
