Dr Li received his PhD from the School of Medical Sciences at The University of Sydney in 2020. During his undergraduate degree he worked at numerous labs including the ANZAC Research Institute, National Measurement Institute, and participated in the iGEM competition.

He joined the Cardiometobolic Disease Group at HRI towards the end of his PhD and continued into a postdoctoral position. His research interests include using in vivo and ex vivo techniques to study heart function in the failing heart and utilising omics technologies to study their underlying cause.
