The fight against cardiovascular disease is a neverending journey.

Despite huge progress in prevention and treatment over the past 50 years, heart disease remains the world’s number one killer. The core mission of the HRI – to improve our understanding of the causes and complications of heart disease – therefore remains essential.

  2. The Heart Research Institute has a strong balance sheet and a solid asset base. This is important so as to smooth any fluctuations in income in any single year and enable our scientific staff to have greater security of tenure. HRI are currently fundraising in three international markets: Australia, New Zealand and The United Kingdom.
